About

My name is Oliver (Ozzie) Crocco (click here to listen to how my name is pronounced) and this blog is where I write about issues of human resource development (HRD), culture, leadership, and everyday life.

Day 1_PM-131I am an Associate Professor of Leadership and Human Resource Development at Louisiana State University (LSU). I received my doctorate from George Washington University (GW) in Human and Organizational Learning and master’s degree from Harvard University in Human Development and Psychology. My scholarly interests are in human and workforce development in Southeast Asia, adult development and critical reflection, global leadership, organization development and change, evaluation, and higher education.

Before coming to LSU, I worked as a Lecturer of Human and Organizational Learning at GW. I also taught at Payap University in Chiang Mai, Thailand for four years. During that time I became interested in HRD while working on an organizational development certificate program offered to Myanmar community-based organization workers at the Thai-Myanmar border and inside Myanmar. As an academic, I am passionate about living a meaningful life in service to others through research and teaching.

I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to work and present papers in Ireland, Malaysia, Morocco, Myanmar, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, the UK, and Vietnam. I served as a Board Member on the Academy of Human Resource Development Board of Directors (2021-2024) and currently serve as an Associate Editor for Human Resource Development Review and on the editorial boards of Advances in Developing Human Resources, Human Resource Development International, and Industrial and Commercial Training.

In my free time I enjoy running, conversations over coffee, reading, writing, cycling, hiking, motorcycling, ultimate frisbee, travel, and meeting new people.

Please feel free to get in touch with me at olivercrocco@lsu.edu.

All the best,

Ozzie
